Facebook: Protect your privacy, protect your reputation

A few years ago a friend of mine was being wooed by the federal NDP to run as a candidate in a deeply Conservative prairie riding. She seriously considered the offer despite the fact that winning the seat was next to impossible. Then the campaign manager handed her a blank sheet of paper and asked her to write down any personal information that, if dug up by some snooping opponent or reporter, could potentially jeopardize her campaign. Appetite for online video growing, but viewers aren’t all gluttons for vulgarity

A report released yesterday has pegged global spending on online advertising at $47.5 billion in 2007 — an increase of nearly a third from 2006.

Of that, online video was the fastest growing segment of online advertising. The report projects that online video will grow from $1 billion in 2007 to $7 billion in 2012. Read more…
